I have for some years now been experimenting growing tomatoes by hydroponics in my greenhouse, with reasonable results.
This year I tried adding seaweed extract to my feed and have been amazed at the results. From six plants I cropped 50lbs of fruit, which was an increase of approximately 30% over other years. I had no trouble with split fruit or blossom end rot, which can be a common complaint. At the height of the growing season the plants growth rate was 2cm per day. I grew the plants to 10 truss high and picked full sized fruit in the first week in June. I can fully recommend your product to anyone similarly interested.

In the spring of this year SHS (Shetland Horticultural Society) member Feri Bartai offered to carry out a trial growing brassicas with the use of Böd Ayre Seaweed Product for the control of clubroot. The outcome was astonishing…..read on…..
I have been gardening for more than 30 years and my main interest is growing vegetables. On my vegetable plot I do not use pesticides or apply artificial fertilisers. I have developed various methods to deal with pests and diseases, some more successful than others.
On my present vegetable plot I encountered a disease of the brassica family new to me: the dreaded clubroot, locally known as “Fingers and Toes”. My plot is near the house and was formerly used as the kale-yard. Shetland kale was grown for many years there; a plant tough and resistant. But the problem is there in the ground and rotation does not help. Cauliflower and kohirabi were the ones which were worst affected. When seeing a cauliflower the size of a lemon I knew what to expect when I saw the root stump.
I have tried different remedies, one being to grow the plants to a reasonable size in pots and then planting them out with a good root system. It was a reasonably successful method but quite labour intensive.
This year I decided to experiment with the Böd Ayre seaweed products and the results were quite amazing. I have applied the recommended amount of dried seaweed, concentrating on the ground earmarked for growing brassica plants prior to planting. Some cabbage and cauliflowers were planted on the same plot, but without the dose of seaweed. The difference was quite obvious.
I still have some kohirabis left in the ground, old and tough, and gradually being fed to the hens, but the roots are fibrous and have no clubroot. My cauliflower crop is the best yet; only one or two plants showed a hint of clubroot on the root, but that has not affected the plant itself. I shall try the Seaweed Product on our bit of land for growing turnips – another brassica prone to clubroot – in 2005!!

Hello from Comrie. My onions fed on Sea-X won the Set of Four Onions class at the Comrie and District Horticultural Show this year. Not huge (biggest 3.5lbs) but bigger and better than all the rest and my first attempt! Many thanks for your advice last year - it really helped. Will try again this year! All the best. (Nov 2011)

I applied 30ltrs of Böd Ayre’s liquid seaweed fertiliser to a 20 acre park in mid April of this year and grazed my sheep on it untill mid May when sheep were removed. The park was cut on 20th July and yielded 120 round bales of hay, sheep were put back on and there will be sufficient feed for them until they are removed for Tupping (early November).

I have grown dahlias for a few years now and this year I must admit to using Sea-X as a spray feed and this is the result. This particular plant has done very well this year and is now near 6'6"tall ( greenhouse door is 5'6") and dwarfs a fuchsia below it - the flower heads are 8" is dia. Last year this plant didn't get above 2'6"/3'0".

We were very pleased with our first year trial of the seaweed extract on our
organic potato crop. We would definitely recommend the seaweed for healthier
and stronger plants that are more able to fight blight infection.

I am delighted with my tomatoes and the quantity we get on the trusses. I feed the plants with Sea-X Seaweed Extract and have done so for several years.
Our Bed & Breakfast guests always comment about the lovely tomatoes they get at breakfast.

On the cabbage front, I applied the seaweed meal and seaweed extract immediately on receipt, the difference between then and now on the overwinter cauliflower is remarkable. Admittedly, I was way too late doing something about the clubroot, but your products have made a clear and impressive difference between a complete loss and at least getting a crop of sorts. I will certainly be ordering some more early in the new year. (Oct 2011)

We find the Bod Ayre Liquid Seaweed very good for our fields as we have Shetland ponies and we can apply it without keeping the ponies off. It is easy to spray and does not cause rapid rich growth.

I am growing a Brugmansia which I keep outside during the summer but always bring indoors to the conservatory at the end of September, for the winter. I always feed it with your Sea-X and this year it is exceptional as you can see - pity I can't send through the aroma ! (Oct 2010)

We have an enthusiastic following for Sea Feed Seaweed Granules and Sea-X Seaweed Extract amongst our customers. Whether it is because it is a natural, organic product, or because it seems to control clubroot, or seems to have a magical quality about it that is reinforced by the wonderful smells of the Shetland seas when you apply Sea Feed, its a feel good product that gardeners enjoy applying to their soil!

Hello to all friends of good organic gardening! Two years ago we have been to Shetland for holidays. In the shop of John Herculson in Vidlin my wife Sigrid found the liquid fertilizer and bought it. At first I was a bit sceptic, because it was not very cheap (especially for our money - the pound is expensive compared with the Euro). But we could read that it was produced locally and so we bought it and took it home to Germany. What shall I tell you? Sigrid was using it for our flowers in the balcony containers (see photo at left), and you really could watch them growing! It was the first fertilizer we used which really made a difference. This year we have been again to Shetland, and of course we bought more of that 'miracle', also the dry produce for our vegetable garden. And we learned to know the producers, Margaret and Michael. After some days of thinking I'll try now to open a market for these wonderful products in Germany. Maybe there will be good news soon ...

Thank you for such a prompt dispatch of the liquid feed and such a friendly, personal service. I started using it at work today and look forward to getting as good results as I did last year. It's a pleasure doing business with you.

We have been trying your seaweed extract on different areas of the land and garden and are quite impressed with the product. The land has been overgrazed by the horses and has recovered reasonably well in comparison to last year.
Some of the plants have benefited whilst others don’t seem to like the product as much. The recently cut field for haylage has certainly come back quicker than last year and is greener and growing faster than previous.
Overall a pretty good product but i feel the land will still need a further muckspread at the beginning of the year. We also suffered with a lot of ticks from the previous sheep farmer that has been an ongoing problem and this year we have had only two the whole season- whether your product works similar to liming and gets rid of them?
The plum and pear trees had a lot of white and green fly and the when the trees were sprayed it cleared the fly and kept them off to give a bumper crop of plums- with only the wasps to deal with now!!
We have been spraying the product at a 40-1 ratio and works well but i would advise to flush all sprayers out as the product left tends to start to regrow back into seaweed and blocks the filters up.
We have also noticed that after harrowing the fields to disperse the horse manure and then spray it seems to accelerate the rotting down process and keep the fly element down.
We are quite impressed with Bod Ayre seaweed extract and shall continue to use it. (August 2011)

I have used Böd Ayre Products in my garden as a mulch for the last two years, and also the liquid extract on mostly my indoor plants. I have been very impressed by the growth in my established plants. They really are thriving, especially those in a shady part with very poor, stony soil. I have ordered more for this year again.

We have 2 old lilac bushes that were 'poorly' and using Bod Ayre's seaweed products have revived them. We also have 2 very old blackcurrant bushes that were here before we arrived 13 years ago.
We thought we would have to dig them out this year, but after feeding them Bod Ayre's products, we are thrilled with the amount of blackberries that are on them this year.
We are thrilled with the products which are giving healthy plants using your natural products.

Böd Ayre seaweed extract as a liquid feed for tomatoes, leeks and onions yielded better than ever crops. In addition to increased yields, from a totally natural organic product, the liquid seaweed contributed greatly towards my produce achieving trophies at the Cunningsburgh Show for best exhibit and most points in garden produce.
